The archive photo shows the O’Donnell-Mackie Service Station on the left, along with streetcar tracks that once ran along Bloor St.

In 1958, the present-day building, which overlooks Varsity Stadium, was opened at the site of the former service station. Originally named the McColl-Frontenac Building, it served as the oil company’s offices. Within a few years, it was renamed the Texaco Building. Today, it houses the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.
