Looking southeast along Yonge St between Gerrard St and Gould St in the Downtown Yonge area of Toronto. The archive photo shows the Zanzibar Tavern, Ford Discount Pharmacy, Star House Chinese Restaurant, Panzerotto & Pizza Original, Caribbean Roti Delight, Peter Dunn’s Vinyl Museum, A&A Records & Tapes, and Sam the Record Man on Yonge St. While the Zanzibar still exists today, when it opened in 1951, it featured fine dining and live musical entertainment.
