Looking northeast along Yonge St from Gould St in the Downtown Yonge area of Toronto.
A few of the businesses visible in the archive photo, from right to left, include Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Sam the Record Man, Electronic Depot, A&A Records and the Vinyl Museum. In 2007, Ryerson University purchased the parcel of land stretching from 345 to 353 Yonge St, and over the next couple of years, the buildings in this area were gradually torn down. Today, the corner is home to the Sheldon & Tracy Levy Student Learning Centre at Toronto Metropolitan University, which opened in 2015.
