Looking north up Yonge St from south of Gerrard St, in the Downtown Yonge area of Toronto.
The archive photo captures the streetscape from more than 70 years ago. While some buildings still stand today, a few notable ones include the Dominion Bank building in the foreground on the left, and the former Eaton’s College Street store, now known as College Park, in the background on the right. Additionally, the photo features the building that was once home to the Biltmore Savoy Theatre, later known as the Coronet Theatre, located in the foreground on the right.
In the vintage photo, notice the S.S. Kresge store on the left and the streetcars that once travelled along Yonge St.
