Looking north up Victoria St from south of Lombard St, in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood of Toronto.
Both photos show the Comstock Building on the corner at 75 Victoria St. Constructed in the early 1890s as an office building, it was designed by architects Denison & King. The archive photo shows when the building housed Leon’s Restaurant, which, according to the sign, served “Bacon or Ham n’ Eggs – Fish & Chips – Fast Take Out Service”.
The city added the Comstock Building to its heritage register in 1973. Today it’s home to House of McGrath restaurant.
