Looking east from Tranby Ave towards Avenue Rd in The Annex and Yorkville neighbourhoods of Toronto.
The archive photo captures St Paul’s United Church, which once stood at the southeast corner of Avenue Rd and Webster Ave. Built between 1886 and 1887, the church was designed in the Gothic Revival style by architects Smith & Gemmell. It was demolished in 1995. Today, there are plans to construct a 9-storey boutique residence at the former church site .
