St George the Martyr Anglican Church, today’s St George by the Grange (the Martyr), is located at 30 Stephanie St (between McCaul St and John St on the north side) in Grange Park neighbourhood of Toronto.
Built in 1844/45 at the cost of $28,000, architect Henry Bowyer Lane designed the Gothic-style church.
The bell tower of St George the Martyr Church, just west of today’s church, is located at 197 John St (at Stephanie St on the northeast corner).
The bell tower, hall and rectory received heritage status from the City of Toronto in 1973 and Ontario Heritage Trust in 1980.
