St Andrew’s Market in 1932 and 2023

Looking southwest along Richmond St W between Brant St and Maud St, in the Fashion District of Toronto. The archive photo shows St Andrew’s Market, which once occupied a large portion of the block. In 1932, the market was torn down and replaced with the Water Works Building. Notice the roadside gas pump. Today, the heritage-designated façade of the former Water Works Building has been incorporated into the new mixed-use building called Waterworks Toronto.
