Looking west towards Sherbourne St from Howard St, in the Upper Jarvis and St James Town neighbourhood of Toronto.
The building on the left with the staircase was built in 1902 by Thomas Cruttenden, a local builder and contractor. The mansion in the background was constructed in 1882 for Charles H Gooderham and, in later years, became the Selby Hotel. The two buildings received heritage designation from the city.
