Looking northeast towards Runnymede Collegiate Institute at 569 Jane St in the Runnymede-Bloor West Village neighbourhood of Toronto.
The archive photo shows the construction of the high school, designed by the architectural firm Burden & Gouinlock, before any expansions. The school opened its doors in 1927, welcoming nearly 300 students, supported by a staff of 10 teachers and one principal. The original building featured eight classrooms, three science labs, a library, an auditorium, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and a locker area across three floors.
