The Richardson Romanesque-style building was constructed from 1886 to 1892 and officially opened in 1893. It was one of the 490 structures on Heritage Toronto’s initial induction list in June of 1973. The archive photo shows a Ford Model T, which was nicknamed the “Tin Lizzie,” heading south on Queen’s Park Crescent.
