Looking northwest on Queen St W, just west of Bathurst St in the West Queen West and Trinity-Bellwoods neighbourhoods of Toronto.
The archive photo shows Perfect Leather Goods in what was originally the Orpheum Theatre at 600 Queen St W. The building functioned as a theatre from the mid-1940s to 1987 and was vacant for a few years before being transformed into retail space. Perfect Leather Goods repurposed the “ORPHEUM” sign and marquee, adding their signage. In the photo, you can also see the Barn Restaurant next door and a Honda Civic DX hatchback, which debuted in 1988.
Currently, the old theatre building is home to Home Craft Decor and the Toronto Alliance Church.
