Looking northwest towards the former Lombard Street Fire Hall, at 110 Lombard St, just west of Jarvis St in the St Lawrence neighbourhood of Toronto.
The structure, completed in 1886/87 and designed by architect David Roberts Jr in the Romanesque Revival style, was originally known as the “Central Fire Hall.” Serving its purpose as a fire station until 1970, the building became home to The Second City comedy troupe within a few years. It has also been a welcoming space for Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto, offering support to those affected by cancer. Today, this historically significant building, now designated as a heritage landmark, is occupied by the CMU College of Makeup Art & Design.
