Looking northwest toward the former Lombard Street Fire Hall at 110 Lombard St, just west of Jarvis St in the St Lawrence neighbourhood of Toronto.
Built in 1886/87 and designed by architect David Roberts Jr in the Romanesque Revival style, the fortress-like building was originally called the “Central Fire Hall.”. The building served as a fire station until 1970 before becoming the home of The Second City comedy troupe in 1973. Over the years, it has also housed Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto, a support community for those affected by cancer. Today, the heritage-designated neighbourhood landmark is the location of the CMU College of Makeup Art & Design.
