The Lakeview mosaic tile storefront entryway is located at 531-537 Parliament St (at Winchester St, on the southeast corner) in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood of Toronto.
On the west side of the historic Winchester Hotel & Hall, there is a mosaic tile apron in white, red, and blue that features the name “LAKEVIEW.” Preservationists uncovered this remarkable feature while restoring the building’s exterior in 2019. This mosaic tiles serve as a reminder of the hotel’s earlier days when it was known as the Lake View Hotel, established in 1888. The building was granted heritage designation by the city in 1975.
Today, customers are greeted at the west entrance—adorned with these eye-catching tiles—before stepping into Church’s Texas Chicken.
