The archive photo shows the streetscape, with the Imperial Six Theatre prominently featured, showcasing its tall sign and advertisements for the blockbuster movie, “The Godfather,” which premiered six months prior. From right to left, other businesses visible in the vintage photo include Superior Restaurant, Saxony Tavern, Chapman Bros, and Studio 267.
In the present-day photo, the architecture has largely remained unchanged; however, the theatre no longer features a tall sign and is now known as the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre.
