Looking northeast towards the corner of Front St W and York St in the Financial District of downtown Toronto.

The archive photo shows the corner several decades prior to the development of the Royal York Hotel. Completed in 1929, this opulent Chateau-style building was regarded as the premier establishment in a collection of hotels originally owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Today, the hotel is part of the Fairmont brand.
