Front St E and George St in 1972 & 2022

Looking southeast towards the corner of Front St E and George St, in the St Lawrence neighbourhood of Toronto. The corner was once home to The Diner and James Gillanders Co (custom woodworkers).

Today a mixed-used building stands on the site. Dancer and choreographer Erik Bruhn lived in the building while Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada from 1983 to 1986.

The heritage building in the archive photo with the Ferro Machinery sign still stands today. Built in 1868, it was originally the Toronto Packing House.
