The beige brick buildings in the centre-right of the photos are a combination of two buildings. The house fronting Bathurst St was built in 1869 and was originally the residence of John Mulvey. The extension facing Adelaide St W was constructed between 1910 and 1911 for St. Mary’s Parish to serve as their literary and athletic club.

In the 1980s, these heritage-designated buildings became home to the Factory Theatre, which purchased the property in 1999.
