El Mocambo is located at 464 Spadina Ave, just south of College St in the Kensington Market neighbourhood of Toronto.
In the late 1940s, El Mocambo Tavern emerged as a dining establishment and live music venue. Over the years, it has hosted performances by renowned artists, including The Rolling Stones, Blondie, Richie Havens, Joan Jett, Meatloaf, 38 Special, among numerous others.
The vintage photograph also shows Shecter’s Restaurant and the Crescent Grill adjacent to the El Mocambo.
