Looking southeast towards the corner of Bloor St W and Queen’s Park in the Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto.
The Department of Household Science Building at the University of Toronto – St George Campus is shown on the right. Constructed between 1908 and 1912, it was made possible by the generous donation of Lillian Massey Treble, aimed at promoting higher scientific education for women in Canada. Designed in the Neo-Classical style by architect George Martel Miller, the building received heritage status from the city in 1973.
Today, the building is home to the Centre for Medieval Studies and the Department of Classics.
