The Danforth Radio terrazzo storefront entryway is located at 581 Danforth Ave (east of Carlaw Ave) in the Riverdale neighbourhood of Toronto.
At the entrance of what is now Treasure Island Toys, customers are greeted by a glimpse into the past, one that once welcomed visitors to Danforth Radio. The earthy tones of the brown terrazzo flooring prominently display the name “DANFORTH RADIO” in an Art Deco-style font. This company, which originally sold radios and later expanded to include TVs and other electronic devices at various locations throughout Toronto, settled into this storefront around 1930 and vacated the space in 1970, leaving behind a trace of its history for curious visitors to discover.
