Cumberland Four Cinemas – Once in Yorkville

Cumberland Four Theatre was once located at 159 Cumberland St (east of Avenue Rd on the south side) in the Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto.

Opening on December 19, 1980, the Famous Players Theatre chain operated the multiplex theatre. The four-screen showcase cinema opened with “9 to 5” starring Dolly Parton, “The Formula” with Marlon Brando, “Tribute” starring Jack Lemon and “Tell me a Riddle” with Melvin Douglas.

It was later operated by Alliance Atlantis Cinema. After 32 years in the Yorkville neighbourhood, the Cumberland Four screened its final films in 2012.

The address 159 Cumberland St is now home to Nespresso Boutique Bar.
