The Credit Strand Clothiers ghost sign is located at 1279 Bloor St W (east of Lansdowne Ave) in the Bloordale Village neighbourhood of Toronto.
Above the storefront entrance, there is a ghost sign that reads “Credit Strand Clothiers.” This sign was uncovered in 2012/13; however, after searching through multiple volumes of the Toronto City Directory, no record of this shop exists at this address.
The three-story building, which dates back to around 1910, has housed a variety of businesses over the years. These include shops for men’s furnishings, dry goods, paint, dry cleaners, a bakery, a supermarket, and several restaurants. Today, the storefront is home to Bar Sugo, a restaurant serving Italian American classics.
