The two images show the Confederation Life Building, located at 20 Richmond Street East, on the right side. This structure, designed in the Romanesque Revival style with French Gothic elements, was constructed between 1890 and 1892 by the architectural firm Knox, Elliot & Jarvis.
In 1973, the city designated the building as a heritage site, and it received additional recognition from the Ontario Heritage Trust two years later.
