Looking north up Bathurst St from College St in the Palmerston – Little Italy neighbourhood of Toronto.
The archive photo shows the streetscape as it was 90 years ago. In the foreground on the left, a portion of the College Street United Church is visible, while in the distance, on the right, is the previous King Edward Public School building.
Today, the homes and streetcar tracks have remained largely unchanged. Only the church’s tower still stands; it has been integrated into the Channel Club condominium, which was completed in the early 1990s. A portion of the condo is visible on the left side of the photo. The school was replaced by a new building in the late 1950s.
