Carlton Cinema is located at 20 Carlton St (east of Yonge St on the north side) in Toronto’s Church and Wellesley neighbourhood.
Founded in 1981, the building home to the Carlton Cinema is located on the former Odeon Carlton Theatre site.
Today, the cinema is operated by Imagine Cinemas.

Was there a Carleton movie theatre on Parliament Street as well (1940’s)? Also the Bluebell.
Hi William, There was a Bluebell Theatre, later called The Gay Theatre, on Parliament St, just south of Dundas St E. A portion of the theatre is visible in the archive photo on our website at https://www.torontojourney416.com/dundas-parliament-se-then-now/
I remember both the Bluebell & Carleton cinemas as well as the Parliament & Eclipse? Cinemas on Parliament St.
The Parliament and Eclipse were located between the Bluebell and the Carleton Cinemas.
Today, in November 2025 Carlton cinema building still exists as a dance school, Located on the east side of Parliament , just north of Carleton Street
