Looking northeast along St George St towards Bloor St W in the University of Toronto – St George Campus area.
The four-storey brown brick building shown in the archive photo was built in 1926 and originally named St George Apartments. In the 1960s, the University of Toronto acquired the building, and in 1969, it was renamed the St George Graduate Residences.
The residence building was demolished in 2002 and replaced with the current 17-storey structure, known as the Woodsworth College Residence, which opened in 2004.
