Looking north up Ossington Ave from just south of Bloor St W in the Dovercourt Village and Palmerston-Little Italy neighbourhoods of Toronto.
In both images, the Ossington Avenue Baptist Church is prominently featured in the left foreground. In the left background of the archive photo, you can see the former Toronto Fire Station No. 14 tower. The fire hall was operational from 1889 until the early 1960s and was demolished to make way for the TTC Ossington Station.
On the right side of the old image, Robertson Drugs can be seen in the background, with Clement Stationary in the foreground. These buildings now house Ali Baba’s and McDonald’s, respectively. Additionally, it’s worth noting that streetcar tracks once ran along Bloor St W and Ossington Ave, as shown in the archive photo.
