West along Bloor St W from Jane St in 1943 & 2026

Looking west along Bloor St W from Jane St in the Lambton Baby Point neighbourhood of Toronto.

The archive photo shows the Lion Service Station on the corner when a gallon of gas was 18¢, or about 4¢ a litre. A little further down the street was Loblaw Groceteria.

The present-day photo shows the construction of a mixed-use building called the Bijou on Bloor. This stretch was once the site of the Humber Cinemas, along with several other buildings that were torn down to make way for the new condo.
