Looking north up Bay St from Wellesley St W in the Bay-Cloverhill neighbourhood of Toronto.
The archive photo features the British American Gasolene station (note the historical spelling) in the left foreground, with the steeple of St Basil’s Catholic Parish visible in the distance on the left, and Wellesley Public School on the right. It’s worth mentioning that the section of Wellesley St W to Yonge St was known as St Alban’s St until 1948.
Although now obstructed by office buildings, St Basil’s Church, located at 50 St Joseph St, still stands today.
