696 Yonge St Terrazzo Entryway

The striped terrazzo entryway is located at 696 Yonge St (at St Mary St, on the southwest corner) in the Bay-Cloverhill neighbourhood of Toronto.

The east side of the building features a bold black and white striped terrazzo floor. This simple pattern complements the International Style architecture of the mid-1950s office building. Over the years, the building has housed various companies, including numerous insurance and investment firms. It was later listed as the Diamond Building in the Toronto City Directory.

In 1979, the Church of Scientology purchased the building to serve as its Toronto headquarters. However, the organization closed the building in 2013.
