The vertical striped terrazzo storefront entryway is located at 594 Bay St (north of Dundas St W) in downtown Toronto.
At the entrance of what has been home to the Terminal Barber Shop for several decades, there’s a vintage terrazzo floor featuring wide vertical stripes in red and cream. The storefront is part of the McKnight Building, which was constructed in the mid-1920s. Over the years, this particular storefront has hosted various businesses, including Dominic Cardella Shoe Shine Parlour, Garr & Son Jewellers, Reed’s Credit Jewellers, Edward’s Watch Clinic, and Ford Jewellers. The Terminal Barber Shop first appeared in the 1934 Toronto City Directory and was originally a few doors up at 598 Bay St before relocating to its current storefront.
