The archive photo features a vacant building for sale, covered with ads for Vogue Fine Cut Tobacco, Buckingham Cigarettes, Tona-Cola, Neilson’s Jersey Milk Chocolate, and Black Cat Cigarettes. Today, the address is the site of Bellwoods Brewery.
On the right side of the vintage photo, there is a building that once housed Mrs. Kathleen Roberts’ grocery store. This heritage-designated building, constructed around 1884, still stands today and is now home to Cote de Boeuf, a bistro, wine bar, and traditional-style butcher shop.
